Christine Stewart has been employed with the City of Portsmouth for over 23 years and has spent the last three years as the Zoning Administrator in the Department of Planning. She has worked as an Environmental/Zoning Inspector in the Department of Permits and Inspections for 8 years prior to be transferred to the Planning Department. Ms. Stewart is a Virginia Certified Building Maintenance Official and Certified Zoning Administrator.
As part of her duties as Zoning Administrator, she enforces the regulations of the City’s Zoning Ordinances which include: approval of site plans for new construction, additions, sign permits and zoning clearances for home, commercial and industrial businesses.
