New and Expanded Business at The Mast Center
The MAST One building is a 60,000 sf Class A building that is close to 60% leased. It currently has 20,000 sf of contiguous space available, which can be built out within 45 days. Its mix of tenants includes several defense contractors as well as government entities. > Read more
back to top BUY! Portsmouth Campaign Continues
BUY! Portsmouth is a promotional campaign that was launched in April 2008 to encourage citizens and city employees to spend their economic stimulus check in Portsmouth. Because of the success of the campaign and heightend retention efforts, the program has been extended indefinitely. One "Buy" product of keeping businesses in Portsmouth operational is the tax revenue that is generated.

Featured Property: The MAST One Building at Hampton Roads Crossing
The MAST Center is an $80 milion, 32-acre research, technology and education campus developed by the cities of Portsmouth and Suffolk. The campus master plan includes 9 buildings with approximately 420,000 square feet, including the new Old Dominion University Tri-Cities Education Center, the Virginia Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Center and MAST One, a 60,000 square-foot spec research and technology building. This building is one of the few Class A office properties in an Enterprise Zone within the metro area that still has available space. The future MAST Two will be 100,000 square feet. Monique Bass has been with the City of Portsmouth for over seven years. In her current role as the Business Development Manager, she is responsible for executing all initiatives and activities to facilitate local business retention, expansion and relocation within the City. She is charged with developing and orchestrating all Business Education Workshops including the City of Portsmouth Annual Veterans Procurement Workshop and Women in Business Symposium.
Monique received her bachelor’s degree from The University of Virginia and her law Degree from Catholic University - Columbus School of Law. She is currently married with three children
